Accommodation for Enrolled International Students

Above, you will find practical information on accommodation during your stay in Aalborg.

As a rule, the International Accommodation Office (IAO) at Aalborg University helps to accommodate foreign students. The International Accommodation Office manages a number of rooms specifically available for foreign exchange students and some for Master's students.

There are many practical matters related to accommodation in halls of residence and private accommodation, such as signing a tenancy agreement, allocation, rent, deposit, furniture, conditions for repayment of deposit, etc. We therefore advise you to read the information very carefully. Furthermore, when you move in you should observe the rules that apply to the particular tenancy. The rules will be given to you at the International Accommodation Office when signing the tenancy agreement.

At the moment you can be accommodated in: 

  • a single private room with shared facilities with other students in a hall of residence, price in DKK: 1,900-2,600
  • a single private room with your own bathroom but shared kitchen in a hall of residence, price in DKK: 2,100-2,600
  • a small one person flat with your own bathroom and your own kitchen, price in DKK: 2,520-3,300
  • a single private room in an apartment or house shared by 3 to 5 students who also shares bathroom and kitchen, price in DKK: 2,200-3,200
  • sharing a room with another student, price in DKK: 2,250-2,500 (meaning sleeping in the same room)

(1 USD is approximately DKK 5.80. 1 Euro is approximately DKK 7.44 (January 2012)).

The prices above are per month per person including heating, water, electricity, antenna outlet fee, maintenance fee and normal wear BUT NOT MEDIA LICENSE which you have to pay seperately. Price increases during the stay will be deducted from the deposit. The price of rent, heating, electricity, water, antenna outlet and maintenance is normally adjusted either at the 1st of February or the 1st of August every year.

Internet

The price for using the Internet depends on the company that provides the service. All residences have Internet facilities. The price for internet is included in the total rent.

Laundry

All accommodations have access to laundry facilities close by the accommodation. The expenses for laundry service is not included in the rent but is accounted for each month. The total sum for laundry is deducted form your deposit.
