The Erasmus programme is an EU scholarship programme for EU students within all academic fields who wish to carry out parts of their education at another European institution of higher education or carry out an internship in another EU/EEA country.
The scholarship is of minimum the same amount as what you would have been able to receive through the AAU Internationalisation Pool had you not been affiliated with a Erasmus programme.
You can apply for an Erasmus+ grant:
You apply for the Erasmus+ grant as a contribution to your expenses during your stay abroad.

Please note: that you cannot be granted from both the Erasmus+ programme and the AAU Internationalisation pool.
The size of the grant depends on which country you are going to (based on the living costs in the specific country) and the length of your stay.

For traineeships/internships: Most likely you will not know where you will be going by the deadline for the grant application, however you should not worry about that, because as soon as you know and upload documentation, we will place your application in the right pool: Erasmus+ (stays inside Europe) or the Internationalisation pool (stays outside Europe).
You should apply even though you have no documentation to present. It can be uploaded later in the process. Please upload the required documentation as soon as possible and NO LATER than 1 June for the autumn semester and 1 December for the spring semester.
International students going to their home country can apply for a grant. However, we do prioritize students not going to their home country. Thus students bound for their home country are only awarded with a grant if we have sufficient funding.
If you are awarded with a grant it will be disbursed in one installment in either January (for stays in the spring semester) and September (for stays in the Autum semester).
All Erasmus+ student must complete a mandatory online language assessment both before (or in the beginning of) and after your period abroad. We will send you a link to the assessment to your AAU student e-mail.
You have 30 days to complete the assessments both before and after the mobility period.
Your application for a grant will be processed only when you have uploaded the required documentation in International Office's online system.
Do remember that is it very important to apply for a grant before the deadline to be eligible (1 March for the autumn semester /1 November for the spring semester). You have to apply even though you may not know all the details and have all the required documents by this time.
